RICHLAND COUNTY, SC

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has released the name of the individual that died after being struck by two vehicles on Long Town Road in upper Richland County. The individual was struck Friday night, 10-11-2013, around 8:44 P.M. and transported to Palmetto Richland Memorial by EMS, and died around 12:10 A.M. Saturday morning.

Darius E. Brown, DOB, 7-14-1993 308 Arbor Drive, Hartsville, SC, 29550, was apparently running in the roadway when he was struck by the outside mirror of one vehicle that in turn knocked him into the path of another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. An autopsy conducted shows that he died from injuries sustained by the collision. The victim was visiting family in town when he went out for a jog.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has released the name of the individual that died after being involved in a motor vehicle collision on Leesburg   Road near Congress Road in LowerRichlandCounty. The wreck was a single vehicle incident and happened around 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, 10-08-2013.

Sandra T. Thomas, DOB, 4-19-1967, 1324 Goffman Road, Eastover, SC, 29044 was the driver and only occupant of the vehicle that left the roadway and overturned. The victim was transported by EMS to PalmettoRichlandMemorialHospital and died at 11:06 A.M.

An autopsy conducted today shows that she died from injuries sustained in the crash. The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
