Ann H. Neeley, a Midlands Technical College alumnus of the Criminal Justice program, began her career with Richland County Coroner’s Office, as a part time deputy, in January of 2002. Ann became a registered member of the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators in September of 2009. She completed the Forensic Scientist Training Program at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, in New York City, in March of 2012. Ann is now a full time employee of the Richland County Coroner’s Office. Along with her duties as a Deputy Coroner, she facilitates the RCCO Youth Education program. This program includes the Coroner’s Experience and CROSSROADS program. Both are coordinated with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s. Presentations at local schools and Career Day participation also falls under this umbrella. In addition, Ann is the RCCO OSHA officer/representative. Ann is married and has 2 children. Her favorite pass time is laughing and singing! She has been known to come down with a case of the silly giggles from time to time. It is the job of her family, friends and co-workers to figure out what’s funny THIS time! When asked about her job, Ann is quick to admit how much she enjoys her work. “It is an opportunity to give back to the community. There are never any Groundhog Days around here. Every day is a different challenge”.
