RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has released the identity of the individual who died as a result of a fatal hit and run that occurred on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
The incident took place on Bluff Road near the intersection of Blackberry Road. The victim has been identified as Travis Kelley, 11, of Gadsden, South Carolina.
“The death of a child is not just a family’s tragedy-it is a heartbreak that ripples through our entire community. To know that a child left home and will not be returning leaves a pain that words cannot fully express. Our office will work closely with the South Carolina Highway Patrol to fully investigate this fatal hit and run,” Coroner Rutherford states.
