Coroner Naida Rutherford Confirms Identity and Cause of Death in Homicide Case of Ka’Niyah Baker

The Richland County Coroner’s Office, led by Coroner Naida Rutherford, is deeply saddened to confirm the identity of 13-year-old Ka’Niyah Baker, whose life was tragically cut short. Ka’Niyah was found deceased in a vacant home in Columbia. After careful examination, her death has been ruled a homicide.

Our hearts are with Ka’Niyah’s family, friends, and loved ones during this unimaginably difficult time. We extend our deepest condolences and share in the collective grief felt across the community.
