Release Stigma, Spread Hope – National Overdose Awareness Day

The Richland County Coroner’s Office is proud to stand with our community in the fight against overdose. Coroner Naida Rutherford and our team invite you to come join us in supporting this important cause, presented by LRADAC and the Taylor Watford Foundation. We hope you will stand alongside us as we remember those we have lost, support the families who love them, and work together toward a Richland County where fewer lives are cut short by overdose.

SAVE THE DATE: Join LRADAC and the Taylor Watford Foundation on Sunday, August 30, from 4-6 p.m. at the South Carolina State House for Release Stigma, Spread Hope, a free National Overdose Awareness Day event honoring lives lost to overdose while sharing hope that recovery is possible.

The evening will feature a Memorial Gallery celebrating the lives of loved ones through photos and personal memories, along with information on recovery resources, naloxone, overdose prevention, and a symbolic butterfly release.
