RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has released the identity of the individuals whose bodies were discovered after a collision Sunday, April 5, 2026.
The collision took place on a stretch of Interstate 77 in Richland County. The first victim has been identified as Mark McCormick, 62, of Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania. The second victim has been identified as William Vazquez-Hernadez, 26, of Lexington, South Carolina.
“We will continue working with the South Carolina Highway Patrol to fully investigate this collision.” Coroner Rutherford states.
The case remains under active investigation. Further details will be released as they become available.
