Coroner Identifies Victim in North Main Crash
RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has released the identity of the individual who died as a result of a fatal hit and run crash that occurred on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
The incident took place on North Main Street at the on-ramp to Interstate 20. The victim has been identified as Joshua A. Smith, 29, of Columbia, South Carolina.
“We will continue working with the Columbia Police Department to fully investigate this crash. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted.” Coroner Rutherford states.
