RICHLAND COUNTY, SC – Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford is releasing the name of the victim whose body was recovered in the area of the 4100 block of River Drive on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
According to Coroner Rutherford, the victim is identified as Erith E. Hitchcock, 61, of Columbia, SC.
“This is an active investigation and more details will be released as they become available. We will continue working with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department and the Columbia Police Department.” Coroner Rutherford states.
