Coroner Identifies Victim in USC Complex
RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has released the identity of the individual whose body was discovered on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
The incident took place in the 600 block of Lincoln Street. The victim has been identified as Eliana M. Peterson, 18, of Columbia, South Carolina.
“We will continue working with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to fully investigate this death. Our thoughts and prayers are with the USC community.” Coroner Rutherford states.
The case remains under active investigation. Further details will be released as they become available
